Advances in Fractional Calculus and Its Applications: Emerging Trends and Challenges

Special Issue on "Advances in Fractional Calculus and Its Applications: Emerging Trends and Challenges"

The ability of fractional calculus to capture non-local, memory-dependent phenomena across a wide range of scientific and technical fields has resulted in a surge of interest in the field in recent years. For modeling complicated systems with anomalous dynamics, it has proven to be an invaluable mathematical tool when traditional calculus falls short. Fractional calculus is a versatile and interdisciplinary field because of its wide range of applications in areas like physics, engineering, economics, biology, and signal processing.

Objective: The goal of this themed issue is to provide a curated selection of high-quality research articles that cover the most recent developments in fractional calculus and its applications. New discoveries in theory and their potential practical applications will be highlighted in this issue, along with the difficulties that researchers in this area currently confront.

Potential Topics: Contributions to this special issue may cover, but are not limited to, the following topics::

  • Fractional differential equations and their applications
  • Fractional operators and their properties
  • Fractional control systems and optimization
  • Fractional modeling and simulation techniques
  • Fractional calculus in image and signal processing
  • Fractional calculus in physics and engineering
  • Fractional calculus in finance and economics
  • Fractional calculus in biology and medicine
  • Numerical methods for fractional calculus
  • Fractional calculus in machine learning and artificial intelligence

Keywords: Fractional calculus; Non-local dynamics; Memory-dependent systems; Dynamical systems; Fractional operators

Submission Guidelines

For this special issue, we seek submissions of original research articles and review articles from researchers, academics, and practitioners. All submissions will be reviewed by experts in the field to guarantee they are both scientifically sound and appropriate to the topic at hand. Guidelines for formatting your manuscripts can be found on the journal's website.

Timeline:
Initial Submission Date: August 01, 2023
